What is SBTI?

SBTI is a parody personality test created by video creator "Apu" to persuade a friend to quit drinking. Modeled after MBTI, the creator claimed it was the "real" test to trick friends unfamiliar with MBTI into taking it. The test ultimately labeled the subject as an "alcoholic personality," successfully raising awareness about the dangers of drinking — and the friend pledged to quit the next day.

Test Content

  • 30+ questions covering life philosophy, values, and social style
  • 15 assessment dimensions across self, emotion, attitude, action drive, and social models
  • 27 unique personality types, each with a dedicated analysis
  • Hidden alcohol-related questions — the original version's secret weapon

Who Is It For

  • People who want to explore their personality in an informal, fun way
  • Friends looking for a creative way to remind someone about healthy habits
  • Anyone tired of MBTI who wants a test that's less serious but maybe more real

The Origin Story

The creator noticed a friend who loved drinking so much they'd carry baijiu in a thermos even during work hours. Determined to intervene, the creator painstakingly built this "bootleg" personality test as a deep intervention. The result was preset to "alcoholic personality," listing dangers like slowed reactions, vomiting, alcohol use disorder, and cancer risk. What looks like a prank is actually the deepest form of care between friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is SBTI and is it real?

SBTI is a parody personality test originally created by a Chinese content creator to persuade a friend to quit drinking. It is NOT a real psychological assessment — it is purely for entertainment. Think of it as a funnier, less corporate cousin of MBTI.

How is SBTI different from MBTI?

MBTI is a commercially developed personality framework based on Jungian theory. SBTI is a humorous parody that uses 15 custom dimensions and 27 irreverent personality types. SBTI makes no scientific claims and intentionally doesn't take itself seriously.

How long does the test take?

Most people finish in 5–10 minutes. There are 30 required questions plus 1–2 optional hidden questions depending on your answers. Questions are shuffled each time so every run feels fresh.

How many personality types are there, and which is the rarest?

There are 27 personality types in total. CTRL (The Controller) and HHHH (The Laughing Fool) are among the rarest — HHHH is a special fallback type only assigned when your answers don't match any standard type at 60% or above. There is also a hidden DRUNK type for a very specific combination of answers.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. Your answers are processed entirely in your browser using sessionStorage and are deleted when you close the tab. We never send your responses to any server. Only anonymized traffic data is collected via Google Analytics.

Yes — you can retake the test as many times as you like from the result page. Questions are reshuffled each time. Sharing your result is as simple as screenshotting the result page, since there's no permanent result URL.
